Biography

CM gradAs the daughter of a librarian and Episcopal priest,  I have spent my life around spiritual and educational institutions.  And lots of books.  I’ve taught children and youth in schools, summer camps, enrichment programs, theatre productions, SAT prep classes. At Oregon Episcopal School, I created programs for students and professional development experiences for adults around intercultural competency, identity development, and community engagement.

My writing, both poetry and prose, has been published in journals and magazines both online and in print (see more in the Writing menu above.)  I hold a BA from Oberlin College and an MFA from the University of Oregon , during which time I was awarded both a Kidd Tutorial Fellowship and a Humanities Center Residency.  My poetry and prose has placed in various contests and won some awards as well.

After traveling to almost every continent and living in six different states, I currently maintain an estate in Portland for the pleasure of many seasonal ants and a loud-mouthed tabby cat.
